Design Studio Digital Presence Platform (NDA)

A scalable digital presence built for growth, flexibility, and portfolio impact

We designed and developed a modern digital platform for a design studio, focused on improving how their work is presented, discovered, and experienced online. The goal was to move beyond a static portfolio site and create a scalable system that supports ongoing growth, improved UX, and stronger SEO performance.

This project combined UX strategy, information architecture, and modular web development to deliver a flexible platform that evolves with the studio’s work.

The Challenge

The studio’s existing website had reached its limits in both structure and performance.

Key challenges included:

  • Portfolio content was difficult to navigate and inconsistently structured
  • The website lacked a clear information hierarchy
  • Case studies were not optimised for SEO or discovery
  • Updating content required manual effort and technical support
  • The platform did not reflect the studio’s evolving creative direction

As a result, the website was not fully supporting business development or search visibility.

Our Approach

We approached the project as a digital platform rebuild rather than a simple website redesign.

Our focus was on three core pillars:

1. Scalable Information Architecture

We restructured the entire site around a modular content system, allowing the studio to easily add, update, and reorganise work without breaking consistency.

This included:

  • A structured portfolio taxonomy (projects, categories, disciplines)
  • Reusable case study templates
  • Clear separation between editorial and project content

2. UX and Navigation Strategy

We simplified navigation and improved how users move through the site.

Key UX improvements included:

  • Clearer homepage hierarchy focused on key work
  • Streamlined project browsing experience
  • Reduced friction between portfolio and case study detail pages
  • Improved mobile navigation patterns for faster access

The result was a more intuitive experience for potential clients, collaborators, and press.

3. SEO-Focused Content Structure

We rebuilt the content structure with long-term search visibility in mind.

This included:

  • SEO-optimised case study layouts
  • Logical heading hierarchy (H1–H3 structure)
  • Improved internal linking between services and projects
  • Keyword-aligned page structure for discoverability
  • Cleaner URL structure for indexation

The platform was designed to support organic growth, not just presentation.

Design Direction

The visual design was kept intentionally minimal and editorial, allowing the work to remain the focus.

We introduced:

  • A refined grid system for consistency across projects
  • Strong typography hierarchy for readability and scanning
  • Subtle motion to improve engagement without distraction
  • A flexible layout system for varied content types

This ensured that each project could be presented with clarity while maintaining a unified brand experience.

Development & Implementation

The platform was built using a modular development approach to ensure long-term flexibility.

Key technical elements included:

  • Component-based structure for reusable layouts
  • CMS-driven content management for non-technical updates
  • Optimised image handling for performance
  • Responsive design across all breakpoints
  • Clean semantic HTML structure for SEO performance

This approach allows the studio to scale content without requiring redevelopment.

Performance Improvements

Following the rebuild, the platform delivered measurable improvements in usability and structure:

  • Faster navigation between projects and case studies
  • More consistent content presentation across the portfolio
  • Improved content indexing and discoverability
  • Reduced friction in updating and managing content
  • Stronger alignment between design output and digital presence

Most importantly, the studio now has a platform that supports ongoing growth rather than limiting it.

SEO Impact

Beyond design and usability, the platform was structured to improve organic visibility.

Key SEO enhancements included:

  • Structured case study content targeting search intent
  • Improved internal linking between services and portfolio work
  • Clear topical relevance across design, UX, and development pages
  • Better crawlability through clean structure and hierarchy

This creates a stronger foundation for long-term search performance as new content is added.

Outcome

The final result is a scalable digital platform that:

  • Presents work with clarity and consistency
  • Supports ongoing portfolio expansion
  • Improves user experience across devices
  • Strengthens SEO visibility and content discoverability
  • Reflects the studio’s design quality and technical capability

Rather than acting as a static showcase, the platform now functions as a living system for digital presence and growth.

Summary

This project demonstrates how a design studio website can evolve into a strategic digital platform. By combining UX structure, modular development, and SEO-focused architecture, we created a system designed for long-term scalability and visibility.
